Samuel Chase Amato, age 83 of Rosedale, went home to his Lord, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Born in Georgia to the late Emmanuel and Catherine (Chase) Amato; beloved, cherished husband of Mary Patricia "Patti" (McKewen) Amato; loving father of Elena Cecelia Amato of Columbia, Antonette Amato Lalia and husband Andrew of Perry Hall and Angela Mira Amato of Rosedale; proud grandfather of Evelyn Rose Lalia, Ajla Grace Lalia, Amelia Joy Lalia and Kena Chase Lalia; dear brother of Joe Amato and wife Diane, Mary Hall and husband Ken, Harry Amato and wife DeAnn, Guy Amato and wife Theresa and the late Rosellen Amato; close brother-in-law of Michele Baylor and Jan Farrell and husband Pat. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sam loved his Lord, the Catholic Church and ministered as a Deacon in the Archdiocese of Baltimore for 14 years. He graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School, earned a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from Loyola College (now Loyola University), president of family-owned and operated Chase Amato Company, Inc, a local manufacturing business. Sam will be lovingly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions in remembrance of Sam, may be made to the scholarship fund honoring Samuel Chase Amato (1960) to Mount Saint Joseph High School, 4403 Frederick Ave, Baltimore, MD 21229
A Mass of Resurrection for Sam will take place on Saturday May 30, 10:00 AM , at Saint Stephen Catholic Church, 8030 Bradshaw Road, Kingsville, MD 21087. A reception will follow in Perry Hall.
